Reducing the viscosity of missan heavy crude oil using combinations of low molecular weight hydrocarbon compounds

This work studied the facilitation of transportation Missan heavy crude oil characterized with high viscosity 84.61 cp at 15 °C, low API 23.1, by reducing its from break down asphaltene agglomerates using five solvents some novel combinations chemical additives were used for this study (naphtha & toluene, naphtha xylene, kerosene, toluene and xylene kerosene).The was measured after being treated these chemicals different concentrations (4, 8, 12 weight%) temperatures 15, 25, 35, 45 °C. It has been found that increasing concentration 4% to 12% causes a decrease in viscosity, 48.62 15°C 30.11 cp. The mixture kerosene drops 50.15 31.70 when is raised 12%. addition drop 51.76 33.67 Increasing led 53.65 34.88 same temperature. findings present could be applied petroleum industry purpose transporting or any other crude.
